Questions
Black — deep, rich base pigment perfect for most clients.
Brown — ideal for lighter tones or softening blends.
Neutralizer — the ultimate adjuster to warm or balance healed tones.
Folicule x Hanafy Black and Brown are 20 ml per bottle. Neutralizer is 15 ml. Folicule Drops is a 10 ml compact size — made for travel, touch-ups, and artists just getting started.
A bottle lasts 10 to 20 full sessions. On treatments averaging $3,000, the pigment is a microscopic fraction of the service price.
We use an industry-standard dilution method built on the Fitzpatrick scale and our own pigment color scale. Every bottle ships with an easy-to-read dilution guide and links to in-depth tutorial videos.
For Neutralizer, use 1 drop with Folicule Black when working on light skin tone clients, or at your discretion. Shake before use.
Done correctly, no. Folicule is a carbon-based pure black with no additional colorants or additives, and it is not made from composite sources, so the color does not shift.
Discolouration comes from four things: traditional tattoo ink or untested pigment, the wrong color for the client, going too deep and blowing out, or an untrained practitioner. What you will see is natural lightening — typically every 4 to 6 years before a touch-up.
Typically 4 to 6 years before a touch-up, when delivered by an experienced, certified artist.
Longevity depends on skin type — oily skin fades faster than dry — plus sun exposure, the client's skincare routine, sweating and friction, pigment quality, and the artist's color choice and needle depth.
Around 1.5 to 2 mm — past the epidermis and into the top layer of the dermis.
Too shallow and UV breaks the pigment down faster. Too deep and the particles migrate, which is what causes blowouts and dermal staining.
Buy from a supplier that specializes in scalp micropigmentation and has reviews from active practitioners. Check the ingredients for heavy metals or toxic chemicals, check the expiry date on every bottle before use, and store it somewhere cool and temperature-controlled.
Patch test any client prone to reactions to tattoos or other PMU procedures — a small amount on the inside of the wrist or back of the crown, then monitor the area.
