What Products Can I Pair With a Moisturizer for Bald Heads?

Table of Contents

For shaved heads, or for anyone who has had scalp micropigmentation, a two- or three-product routine covers almost everything. Matte Moisturizer hydrates and soothes irritated skin without adding grease. Here is what to pair with it.

    Shine Slayer

Your body produces sebum to hydrate the skin. With less hair to absorb it, that oil sits on the surface and makes the scalp look shiny — and heat and sweat make it worse through summer.

Shine Slayer is a mattifying balm built for exactly this. Rice starch aggressively absorbs sebum and flattens breakthrough shine without suffocating the skin. Jojoba seed oil conditions lightly and helps stop the scalp overproducing oil in the first place. Vitamin E is in there as an antioxidant, and the scent — sandalwood with gardenia and rose — is warm and dry rather than sweet.

It goes on smooth and disappears on contact: no white cast, no tacky film, and nothing you have to scrub off in the shower.

Smooth a dime-sized amount onto a clean, dry scalp or SMP area, morning and night, and reapply as needed — after a workout, on a hot day, or before you go on camera. Apply Matte Moisturizer first, let it settle, then Shine Slayer on top.

    Scalp Sunscreen

For bald styles, or after SMP, apply sunscreen daily. It protects against sunburn and premature aging, and it is the single biggest controllable factor in stopping SMP fading early.

Body sunscreen and scalp sunscreen both block UV, but they are built differently. Body formulas prioritise water resistance and broad coverage, and are often oily or delivered as a spray — a poor applicator for a scalp. Scalp skin needs something non-comedogenic that will not clog pores.

    Scalp Sunscreen is:

Mineral-based: 100% mineral actives, no chemical preservatives, dyes or oils.

Mattifying: warmer temperatures and sweat mean a shinier head. There is a mattifier built in, so protection does not put the gloss straight back.

Protective: SPF 40 against both UVA and UVB. Designed for SMP, usable on any scalp.

It is gentle, tinted, water-resistant and reef-friendly, with no oily ingredients to leave residue. Apply the moisturizer first, then sunscreen fifteen minutes before sun exposure, and reapply every two hours — or every 80 minutes if you are swimming or sweating heavily.

    Scalp Wipes

For the gym bag and the days straight after an SMP session. Scalp Wipes clear sweat and oil in one pass, which stops sweat sitting on the scalp and mixing with sebum.

    Product Pairing

Moisturizer, balm and sunscreen all have mattifying properties and work as a daily routine. The order is what matters: moisturizer first, let it settle, then balm, then sunscreen if you are heading out.

Bundled: the Shine Control Duo is the moisturizer and the balm. The Shine Control Trio adds sunscreen. The Complete Scalp Kit is the full range.
