This is the whole daily routine for a shaved head: hydrate, protect, mattify — in that order, layered.
The sunscreen is the piece most people skip and the one that matters most for SMP. UV exposure is a leading cause of pigment fade, and this one is tinted so it disappears into the scalp instead of leaving the chalky white cast mineral sunscreens are known for. It finishes matte, not glossy, so it layers cleanly under the balm.

Matte Moisturizer — the Humectant Stack (glycerin, trehalose, sodium hyaluronate, beta-glucan, erythritol), aloe barbadensis leaf extract, vitamin E, orange peel oil.
Scalp Sunscreen — active ingredients titanium dioxide 8%, zinc oxide 3.8%. 100% mineral, no chemical UV filters.
Shine Slayer — rice starch, jojoba seed oil, sandalwood album oil, vitamin E.

Moisturizer, then sunscreen, then balm. Hydrate the skin, protect it, then flatten the shine on top. Let each layer settle before the next.
Most do. This one has a mattifying finish rather than a glossy one, and it is tinted so there is no white cast. Shine Slayer over the top takes it completely flat.
For SMP, yes. UV is a leading cause of pigment fade, and a bald scalp takes the most direct exposure of anywhere on your body — walking to work counts.
