1. Smooth Matte Moisturizer onto clean face and scalp, upward and outward. 2. Let it settle. 3. Smooth a dime size of Shine Slayer over the top.

Matte Moisturizer — 50 ml / 1.7 fl. oz. A lightweight daily lotion for oily skin, face and scalp. Absorbs fast, finishes matte. $22 separately.
Shine Slayer — 50 ml / 1.7 fl. oz. A mattifying scalp balm that kills shine with no cast and no tack. $22 separately.

These two were built to layer. The moisturizer hydrates with humectants that pull water into the skin rather than oils that sit on top, so it never adds shine. The balm then flattens whatever breakthrough oil the day produces.

Hydrated, calm skin also holds SMP pigment better and heals better, and the matte finish restores the texture that makes SMP read like real stubble.

Matte Moisturizer first on clean skin, let it settle, then Shine Slayer on top. Moisturiser under, balm over — the other way round and the balm cannot do its job.

You can, and it works on its own. But shine starts with the scalp over-producing oil, and the moisturizer is what stops that happening in the first place. The balm handles what gets through. Together they hold matte for longer than either does alone.

Shine Slayer is warm sandalwood with gardenia and rose. Matte Moisturizer is a brighter citrus-herbal — orange peel, geranium, citronella. A deliberate contrast.
